President & CEOEssex County Community FoundationStratton Lloyd is President & CEO of Essex County Community Foundation, a nonprofit grantmaker and convener dedicated to sparking generosity and collaboration to address Essex County’s greatest needs and unlock opportunities for all.
Stratton began his tenure as President & CEO in the summer of 2024, as the Foundation was preparing to celebrate 25 years of impact. Since then, he has led a small but mighty team dedicated to serving the people of Essex County through community leadership, building capacity for local nonprofits and fostering strong, collaborative partnerships that bring people together. Stratton and the ECCF team are committed to work that is by, for and from the community.
Prior to being appointed President & CEO, Stratton worked with ECCF for six years, first as Vice President of Community Leadership and then as Executive Vice President and COO. During that time, he played a key role in ECCF’s growth and success. Stratton was the chief architect of ECCF’s ‘Systems Philanthropy,’ a data-driven, community-focused approach to problem solving that establishes the foundation as a hub for collaboration in Essex County. His guidance has also been critical through two strategic plans and to the ongoing success of ECCF’s community leadership efforts, including the Creative County and Advancing Digital Equity initiatives. More recently, Stratton has worked closely with the ECCF team to support the development of innovative work – like Place-Based Impact Investing and Climate Resiliency Initiatives – and to deploy $2 million through the foundation’s Essex County Community Response Fund to local nonprofits impacted by federal funding cuts.
Before joining the team at ECCF in 2018, Stratton served in a consulting role on Impact Essex County, ECCF’s data initiative used to drive collaborative planning, priority-setting and action toward a strong future for our communities. Prior to that, he served for 14 years as executive vice president of Strategy, Product Management and Customer Operations at EBSCO Information Services in Ipswich. Stratton was also the founder and managing director of First Look, Inc., now known as YouthServe, a nonprofit global youth service-education organization that empowers young people through volunteerism and leadership.
