Founder / PrincipalDaniel Consulting Group

Reece has spent the last 18 years working in battery research and development at some of the most innovative battery labs in both industry and academia. He has taken part in a wide variety of projects during this time spanning the full spectrum of the battery technology development-cycle; from benchtop, exploratory, beaker-cell testing all the way up through commercial cell and battery pack fabrication and production. Since founding Daniel Consulting Group in 2018, Reece and his team have worked with dozens of companies and organizations across the planet to help them get the highest quality battery data at the lowest cost. DCG has been referred to as the "Sherpas that help companies scale battery mountain."

Prior to getting into batteries, Reece was a helicopter mechanic / door-gunner in the United States Marine Corps where he developed a healthy obsession with tool organization. Fun Fact: Reece is Chuck Norris's martial arts grandson.

These four startups—working on novel electrolytes, new battery design, battery-quality monitoring, and deeply technical R&D—have experienced the power of collaboration through their work together. With one company’s electrolyte assembled into pouches thanks to another’s manufacturing expertise, then tested in yet another’s quality-monitoring system, all with an ethos of shared experimentation, these four startups are a stellar case study in how breakthroughs can move faster from prototype to deployment when ecosystems move together. This conversation will explore what it takes for an innovation ecosystem to catalyze step-change progress, as told by startup perspectives from across the energy storage value chain. Show MoreClick the title to see all detailsShow More
