Ted Wiley is the President and Chief Operating Officer at Form Energy. As one of the five co-founders of the company, Ted has played a pivotal role in developing its core business functions, including Finance, HR, Facilities, Business Development, and Policy. Today, he oversees Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Global Supply Chain, Program Management, and Environmental Health and Safety, driving Form Energy’s operational excellence.

Ted began his career as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, where he served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was recognized by the Secretary of the Army as a Pentathlete Leader for his exemplary leadership and later served as an aide-de-camp within the Program Executive Office for Weapons and Ammunition, focusing on arming U.S. forces. 

After leaving the military, Ted earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and transitioned into the energy and technology sectors. He co-founded Aquion Energy, a startup developing bulk energy storage solutions for the grid, where he served as Head of Product. Following this, he became VP of Product at MassChallenge, a global startup accelerator, where he spearheaded the development of an investment fund and strategies to expand the organization’s model to new regions. Ted later served as President of McDonough Innovation, a consulting firm dedicated to advancing sustainability solutions for the circular economy, inspired by the work of architect William McDonough.

In 2013, Ted was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, recognizing his contributions to innovation and leadership.
