BOSTON, April 17, 2025 – On May 13 and 14, ClimaTech – an intensive two-day conference designed to unlock the business potential of climate innovation – is set to take place in Boston, a global hub for climate action. Industry leaders, policymakers, investors and entrepreneurs will join together at the iconic MGM Music Hall for two days of panel discussions, showcases, deep-dive workshops and entertainment inspiring all to move forward the future of climate innovation.
ClimaTech attendees can participate in a “deal flow” lunch or learn how to work through business issues in real time at the Climate Salon. Organizers will begin day one of the conference’s showcase with a dynamic VIP women’s reception. Expert-led fireside chats throughout the conference will inspire collaboration and deal-making and a business expo on the floor of MGM will allow entrepreneurs to show their wares to investors.
“ClimaTech is an event designed to make strong connections, create partnerships and find solutions – surrounded by inspiration, positivity and real opportunity to move forward,” said Paul Scapicchio, president of The Novus Group and a lead organizer for ClimaTech. “We want ClimaTech to mix business and culture in a way that inspires people, breaks them out of their shells and helps business get done.”
ClimaTech is supported by a diverse set of sponsors and partners. Partners include local universities, Incubators, government agencies, The Boston Calling Music Festival, GE Vernova, indiGO Tech, National Grid, Keolis, Zipcar and others. This year’s event will also be supported by Heatmap News, whose coverage brings the latest insights from the industry to a global audience, amplifying the voices of those shaping the future of climate action.
“We are dedicated to collaborating with all stakeholders to create innovative solutions to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable energy today and into the future,” said National Grid New England President Lisa Wieland.
There will be three programmatic themes throughout the event. ClimaTech will highlight Massachusetts’ private and public leadership, while emphasizing the necessity of global partnerships; explore the economics of scaling technologies, address regulatory uncertainty and uncover emerging trends in climate innovation, investment and industry opportunities; and equip attendees with actionable insights and strategies to move from discussion to execution thus driving tangible business outcomes and accelerating future technologies and processes.
ClimaTech will open on May 13 with an exclusive VIP opening ceremony, followed by a day full of engaging panels and activations for all attendees on May 14. In addition, Amazon Innovator’s Playground will showcase the latest breakthroughs in robotics and mobility.
A highlight of ClimaTech will be the AI-first Innovation Challenge, curated by Tod Hynes of MIT’s Sloan School of Management. In the challenge, early-stage, mid-stage and late-stage companies will compete for funding and partnerships to accelerate their climate solutions. Finalists in each track will pitch solutions to a panel of human judges, supported by AI-driven insights during the final event. The challenge aims to turn bold ideas into scalable, impactful solutions through a redefined competition model fully integrated with AI. Applications are open through April 27 via ClimaTech Innovation Challenge 2025. Winners will receive cash prizes, investment opportunities, mentorship from industry leaders, media exposure, and introductions to potential customers and partners.
“We are neither moving fast enough nor in the right direction when it comes to the climate challenge,” said Tod Hynes, CEO of Maigent, MIT Lecturer, and Co-Founder of the ClimaTech Innovation Challenge. “AI is one of the only tools that can help us tackle this crisis at the speed and scale required.”
